Refill gas lighter

Save money and reduce waste by simply refilling your lighter. Grab a can of butane gas and a small screwdriver to get started.

1. Bleed the Valve

Use the screwdriver to briefly press down on the refill valve (at the bottom) to let any trapped air escape. This prevents the flame from sputtering.

2. Align the Nozzle

Hold the lighter upside down. Place the nozzle of the butane canister straight onto the lighter's refill valve.

3. Refill

Press the canister down firmly in short bursts of 2–3 seconds. Stop as soon as the lighter appears full; overfilling can cause leaks.

4. Rest and Test

Wait 2 minutes to allow the gas to reach room temperature. Test the flame and adjust the height if necessary using the wheel on the bottom.
