There are numerous warm countries to spend the winter if you are not too fond of the cold season. Even just a week to a sunny destination can be a very pleasant occasion. Are you ready to book a last minute to a warm country? Below are a few sunny options.
Wintertime in Tenerife
Tenerife is a part of the Canary Islands and belongs to Spain. The island however is located in the far south. Tenerife is located in the Atlantic Ocean on approximately 200 km distance from the west coast of Morocco. Capital city Santa Cruz is located in the northeast of the island. You find the busy harbour here where many cruise ships dock. You also find Plaza de España, a centrally located square filled with shops and restaurant here. This square is located between the busy centre and the sea. Tenerife is a beautiful destination to celebrate new year’s eve with your loved ones.
Winter sunshine at the Turkish Riviera
Turkey has the same seasons and indeed, it can freeze and snow over there as well during the winter. This however does not mean it is just as cold in Turkey as in The Netherland. Especially the Turkish Riviera is pleasant. This is the Southern coast of Turkey with touristy destinations such as Marmaris and Alanya. The temperatures are around 16 degrees and sunny around December and January.
Let’s go Down Under
Alright, we have to admit that you probably would not go to Australia for a last minute holiday. The journey by plane alone will take up at least 20 hours. However, if you dread the winter every single year, you could save some money to go next year. Australia is one of the first countries of the planet where the new year arrives and is celebrated. More than a million people gather in Sydney to witness the fireworks of the Harbour Bridge.
Tropical Mauritius
Celebrating new years eve under a palmtree, on a tropical white beach with a turquoise ocean. Sounds good, right? If so, Mauritius will be your best friend.
