What is Kanna?

Kanna (officially known as Sceletium tortuosum) is a succulent from South Africa, traditionally used for centuries by indigenous peoples such as the Khoisan. They consumed Kanna during rituals, hunting, or social gatherings – by chewing, snuffing, or brewing it as tea.

Kanna is renowned for its interaction with the senses. Many use it to experience calm, focus, or an uplifting mood. Today, it is sold worldwide in various forms: as a herb, extract, capsules, or – like in this choco – incorporated into creative edibles.
