Induction Heating Technology in Smoke-Free Tobacco Systems: Operation and Applications
Smokeless tobacco systems that use Induction Heating Technology (ITV), such as the IQOS Iluma, offer an alternative to traditional smoking products. These systems work by heating specially designed tobacco units, such as Terea HEETS, rather than burning them. This creates a vapor that can be inhaled by the user, with the aim of offering a smoke-free solution.
The IQOS Iluma uses advanced Induction Heating technology to heat the Terea. This technology uses electromagnetic fields to generate heat instead of direct contact with a heating element. This results in a more even heating of the Terea and ensures a consistent taste experience with every puff.
Using a smokeless tobacco system like the IQOS Iluma starts with placing a Terea unit in the Iluma Holder. Then the Holder is activated, which starts the induction heating and heats the Terea to the desired temperature. The user can now inhale the vapor without combustion taking place. After use, the Terea unit is removed and the device can be charged for the next use.
It is important to emphasize that while smokeless tobacco systems such as the IQOS Iluma and Terea are intended to provide an alternative to traditional smoking, they still contain tobacco products and are not risk free. These products must comply with tobacco laws and should not be advertised as safe or healthy options. They are aimed at adult smokers looking for an alternative to traditional cigarettes and other tobacco products.
