• Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age.
• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Do not drive or operate machinery after use.
• Do not combine with alcohol, medication (especially MAO inhibitors or antidepressants), or other drugs.

Contraindications (When NOT to use?)

You should avoid this product in the following situations:

• When using antidepressants (SSRIs), such as Seroxat or Prozac.
• When using Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors), including Peganum harmala, Banisteriopsis caapi, passion flower (Passiflora incarnata), and yohimbe.
• In case of concomitant or closely sequential use of MDMA (XTC).

Possible Risks and Side Effects

• Serotonin syndrome: Kanna acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). When you combine Kanna with substances that strongly stimulate the release of serotonin (such as MDMA) or inhibit its breakdown (such as MAO inhibitors), this can lead to serotonin syndrome. This is a severe and potentially life-threatening overload of the serotonin system.
• Dependence: The active mechanism of Kanna affects dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, which can be experienced by the body as a reward. Although there is still insufficient clinical research on this, it carries a risk of tolerance and psychological dependence. Daily use is therefore discouraged.
• Enhancement of other substances: Concomitant use with other substances can lead to unpredictable interactions. Kanna is known to be capable of significantly intensifying the effects of alcohol and cannabis.
