Protect yourself from phishing scams in DHL's name. Learn how to recognize and report phishing here. Download the My DHL app only from the official App Store and Google Play Store and always check the sender of a message. Stay alert and check the status of your shipment on our track and trace page.
Phishing has become a growing problem recently, and DHL is regularly used as a lure for internet fraudsters. Phishing is a form of fraud in which criminals attempt to obtain personal information or defraud you by luring you to a fake website. This usually happens via email.
Fraudulent text messages are also used to scam you. These messages ask you to download a tracking app to receive a package. But beware: criminals can use this app to steal your sensitive information such as bank details and passwords. Therefore, only download the My DHL app from the official App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
Emails you receive from DHL always end with dhl.com, dhl.nl, or dhlparcel.nl. Note: Check that the sender's address doesn't suddenly change when you hover your mouse over the link. A fraudster can "mask" this. Did you receive a payment request via email or text message? A genuine payment request from DHL always includes your parcel number. Check that the number in the email or text message matches your shipment. Don't click on the number or link; instead, write down the shipment number and enter it on our track and trace page.
Have you received a suspicious email, text message, WhatsApp message, or payment request and are you unsure if it's from DHL? Don't click on any links or open any attachments. Report it by email to spam.parcel@dhl.com and attach the suspicious email or text message. Don't forward the suspicious email, as this will destroy the original and technical data. Attaching the suspicious email allows DHL to identify and block the real sender.
Protect yourself from online fraud and be alert to phishing scams claiming to be DHL. Use the tips above to recognize and report phishing. Also, keep an eye on our track and trace page for the current status of your shipment.
