How do you roll a joint?

Rolling a classic joint is a skill that every cannabis lover wants to master sooner or later.

What do you need?

Preparation

  1. Grind your herb finelyUse a grinder for an even grind.

  2. Fold your filter tip – Make a W-fold or use a pre-twisted tip.

Traditional rolling method

  1. Hold the tissue paper with the adhesive side up, towards you.

  2. Spread the herb evenly over the paper.

  3. Press lightly so that nothing falls out.

  4. Add the tip to the left.

  5. Start rolling from the tip side and work towards the right.

  6. Lick the adhesive edge and seal the joint.

  7. Squeeze the contents and twist the end closed.

“Over the tip” method (for beginners)

  1. Fold the bottom of the tissue paper into a 'boat'.

  2. Place a pre-threaded tip into the boat.

  3. Fill with herbs – not too full.

  4. Press the herb down without pushing too hard.

  5. Roll the paper over the tip, holding with your thumb.

  6. Smooth out and lick the adhesive edge.

  7. If necessary, press the herb with a pestle and push the tip up at the openings.

How do you roll a blunt?

A blunt gives you a heavy smoke session and uses a tobacco wrap instead of rolling paper.

Preparing the blunt wrap

  1. Check the wrap – not too dry! It should feel a bit spongy.

  2. Remove the tobacco from the wrap.

  3. Split the wrap with a wet finger or a knife.

Grinding herbs for a blunt

  • Coarse grinding: 2–4 turns in the grinder is enough. No powder!

Rolling process

  1. Hold the wrap firmly and fill with herbs.

  2. Shape the herb into a cylinder with your fingers.

  3. Tuck & roll : lick, fold the bottom over the herb, and then fold the top over it. Work in stages.

  4. Singing technique (alternative): moisten the inside, place the wrap on the table and roll over the table.

How do you fill a cone?

Don't feel like rolling them yourself? Then pre-rolled cones are the easiest option.

What do you need?

  • Pre-rolled cones (like RAW)

  • Finely ground herb

Filling process

  1. Grind your herb evenly.

  2. Start with a small amount at the bottom and press firmly.

  3. Fill the remainder loosely to the top.

  4. Twist the top closed for a secure seal.

Tip: There is also talk about the "Hoover Method" for RAW cones – a faster way of filling – but we will cover that in a separate blog post.
