How do you refill an original Zippo lighter?
Pull the metal inner part (the insert) out of the outer casing. Lift the felt pad at the bottom and carefully drip Zippo lighter fluid onto it until the underlying cotton is saturated. Then slide the insert firmly back into the casing.
How often should you replace the flint?
This depends on how intensively you use the lighter. As soon as the fire wheel turns stiffly or hardly any sparks come off it, the flint is worn out. You unscrew the screw at the bottom of the insert to easily place a new stone.
